Before the works...
The pine parquet flooring in this Brixton Property was looking tired and in desperate need of renovation. During our initial survey, we did detailed inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all possible choices, followed by comprehensive quote with our floor restoration & repairs prices for parquet flooring.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding of pine parquet flooring and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.
How we completed this pine parquet flooring renovation...
One of the challenges we faced during this project was to complete the floor works in stages, due to bulky pieces of furniture, which could not be moved out.
Parquet flooring comprises of a large amount of small wooden blocks forming a pattern. Our team will carefully inspect the floors for movement and hollowness, and take further steps on this stage, if required.
During the pine parquet flooring sanding the timber floors are going through a process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to the application of the sealant & between the coats, for excellent results.
Our works included approx. pine parquet flooring floor restoration and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Junckers HT700 lacquer.
Overall, this floor restoration project in Brixton was completed as planned and to the delight of the client.
Did you know this about pine flooring?
Pine is softwood timber widely used in construction for structural and finishing elements, due to its resilience to moisture. As a porous wood, rich in resins when its fresh, pine will shrink over time slightly, but it also changes colour and makes the original floorboards, which we love to repair & restore, such attractive asset to our environment.
